I'm having troblem finding insurance on a baot I would like to buy. It is a 1997 Baja Outlaw 29' with 2 engines 350hp each.I try Progressive and they was like 321.00 month. Thats crazy.
I try Boat US, Ski Safe, United Marine, Geico.
They all said they can't give insurance for that kind of boat in south louisiana.

Can anyone help me find insurance? Are who to try.

That's insane! I pay $345 a year for mine thru State Farm. I've had them since I could drive. Maybe that's the difference.

I won't lie, you're going to pay much more than anyone else on here that lives in any other part of the country than you do. Being that you are in one of the 4 "bad" states for insurance, especially boat, you are going to pay more. I will be happy to get you a quote just either call me or email me at s.shute@wakezoninsurance.com. I have to get some personal details from you. I'll do my best for you but it's not going to be $400 a year, that I do know.

 Does your boat have 700 hp in it? Twins make ALL big boy insurance companies bug eyed...at least in performance boats.

Try Elton Porton Marine Insurance, Dave Barbee. I believe they are based in LA. He comes very highly recommended from my AT brethren as he owned a 37 AT himself.

I've developed a great relationship with Bob Luellen at World Wide Marine over the years, which is key in this sport. I just got my renewal and it went down $500.

Oh, don't even get me started on SF! They are all over the board on who they will write. There is a long thread on this over on OSO. I have all my other policies with them, but they won't write my boat. But they write others with bigger HP. And others in my club with similar power have SF. No rhyme or reason...

You in Ft Myers? Really???

Nope only 450. I understand the thing about having twins along with being in the hurricane region. Yes, SF is very weird about their policies but they have treated me right.
