Just from posting and reading on the board I've heard of a lot of great things to do and places to go with you boat. Unfortunately, here in Cols OH there might be several lakes but not real big and not real entertaining. We don't have poker runs or rivers with bars or places where you can run for several hours, unless you go to the Ohio River or Lake Erie. But the river is dirty and erie can get pretty rough. Not to mention its not exactly clear as some other lakes. We do have on lake with some night life but its so shallow you wouldn't have to worry about life vests when you skiing. If you fall just stand up.

Anyway what I'm getting at is what are your hot spots. Places you love to go to or things you love to do. I don't have much but I'll list them in order of what I know of.

1. Of course my favorite lake in Delaware Ohio Alum Creek. N. side of 36/37 just anchor and hang out.
2. Lake Cumberland anywhere, also to go to the poker run for the first time
3. Put n Bay
4. Key West Poker Run never been and not going in this boat.
5. Rock the Bay never been, but from the sounds of it good time
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Oops my top ten in only five. Thats about the only places I can think of. I've only had my boat in 4 lakes, one of them I have no interest in going back.

You need to come to the Ohio River 70 east to Wheeling drive 7 miles north on Rt 7. the marina is on the right put in and head north on the pike island pool there is 3 places to eat and they all have bars, on the northern end of the pool there are islands and sand bars. It use to be reall y busy but since of high gas prices not as busy. Also, we are all heading to Pittsburgh Pa on June 14 for the Kenny Chesney concert at Heinz Field it is one big party. For being clean, I can see my prop in the river while standing on my swim platform.

Jammin' on the James Poker Run, Richmond, VA.
July 11, 12, and 13th.

One of the Top 10 in the nation.

Its basically a 200 mile roundtrip party; by boat.

The party starts Thursday night in Richmond. Everyone starts to tear it up for a big dock bash culminating on Friday night. Saturday morning, the PR departs and heads to the Norflolk/Hamption/Virginia Beach area via a couple stops. Saturday night is the big bash with www.theworxband.com and Sunday, once the hangovers die a bit, everyone heads back to the trailers in Richmond; but most stop at several hang outs on the James River for lunch/raft-ups.

Lake St. Clair on a week-day when it's not real busy and rough. Have charts and avoid shallow areas. You can get in trouble here but I never have as much fun as on St. Clair. Lots to see and do there.

This is the place where you need to do your boating!
What Gil said. There are so many different places on the Chesapeake from Virginia to Delaware that you could go somewhere different every weekend and not hit the same place twice in a season.

I think it would take about three seasons to see them all! :p:

Put-in-Bay and Kelly's Island, for sure...1 part Key West, 1 part Cape Cod and 1 part Bourbon Street. Shaken and stirred...

NW corner of MI - lower peninsula From Traverse City up to Harbor Springs...beautiful Lake Michigan area with lots to see and do. Truly the "Riviera of the Midwest...

MI Chain of Lakes - off Grand Traverse Bay; Elk, Torch, Clam, Bellaire. Torch is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen, and the sand bar at the south end is fun on July 4 weekend.

Near and dear to me - Portage Lakes chain near Akron. Not great for bigger boats, and limited speed areas (400hp limit) but plenty of bars, restaurants, and nice homes to gawk at.

I was out at Lake Havasu last summer. Awesome place when the boats are running. We were out during the week and it was 115 degrees. But you could tell it would be an incredible venue for poker runs and races. And it is.

PLACES I WANT TO GO: Chesapeake Bay area looks great, and I think that must go on the list. I think boating in the DC area looks fun. I love the North Shore of MA (all of MA really) and Fall River / Providence is a great spot too. Wanna hit Lake Winnepesaukee, LOTO and Cumberland too.... All in good time. :D :D :D

I second that! I love the Bay to put on some serious miles and Elk/Torch/Clam for less miles and more hanging out. And Torch is BEAUTIFUL!!
