I was driving the wife`s Camaro home from work last night and I got pulled over by the local Barney Fife. I knew I wasn`t speeding ....
He tells me that I have a headlight out (I knew it wasn`t working the other day, but I tapped on it and it came back on. Good, right ? :D ). Then he says that when I stopped, he noticed my left brake light was out. (someone told me that last week, but I forgot .... :p: )
Then, as he was talking to me, he noticed my registration was expired. (I renewed it, but never put the new sticker on my windshield ... )
He asked for my license and insurance. My license still has my old address and my insurance card was not the current one.

I seem to be in real trouble at this point. :confused1

He sits in his car forever, then finally comes back to my window. He writes me 5 WARNING tickets and tells me to take care of this stuff ASAP.

I thanked him for his generosity !

I've never gotten warnings until recently.....

My new Charger didn't come with a front plate mounting bracket as is required in VA. Got pulled over for no front tag. Officer gave me a ticket but told me to come to court with a picture of the front of the car with the tag and he would mark the violation "complied with law" and I wouldn't have to pay it. Court was Friday the day before Labor Day. A couple days before I sent a faxed letter to the court that I needed to re-schedule since I would be out of town, that I was going to bring evidence of fixing the tag. (and I faxed the photo)

They took that faxed and cleared me in my absence!!!!

I actually bought the mounting bracket and mounted my tag to it, then taped it to the car for the picture....30 seconds after I took the picture, the tag fell off the front of the car. I hope the same cop doesn't ever pull me over again!! :)

Same story with the EVO.. But I got pulled over about 5 times before I did the tape thing, then went ahead and mounted one on there.. tried to avoid more trouble but it didn't stop... Then it was window tint and exhaust...

Another Virginia bull crap law. If you're against the ridiculous law and you are a car enthusiast; support the Virginia Car Club Council.

Doesn't really matter to me anymore as I sold most of my go fast cars. My '97 SS was ticketed again and again for no tag. I never put it on and sold it finally.

I was extremely polite to him. The first thing he asked about was the address on my license. I just moved here, from 140 miles away. The state law says you have to change your address within 30 days. I`ve been here almost 2 months. I told him how much I was enjoying the city and how nice everyone has been. He said "just get it changed as soon as you can". :laugher:

In NY state those are all Non Moving Violations.. No harm here and all tickets written could have been void if proven repair....

The should warn you and give you a chance to fix a tail light, brake or headlight.... usually those stops are to find somebody Drinking........
