Which do you prefer and give some examples of why. Unfortunately we boat in a lake, sucks cause your trapped and not much to do, but I think if I had a choice I'd prefer a river (endless) or a bay.

I'm on a river, about 80 miles from the Chesapeake bay where it meets the ocean. In an hour and a 1/2 I can go from calm river water, to choppy bay water, to ugly ocean water.....if only the water looked a little cleaner it would be even better.

(I'm voting "other" since I have all 3)

I prefer lakes because in my experience of the handful of lakes I've boated on they are very clean. I enjoy kneeboarding so if I'm gonna be in the water I much prefer clean water with nice visibility and clarity.

Now most of my boating is on the Delaware River so the water is kinda grody there, but oh well. The nice thing about the river is there's a lot to explore and it's not that far to the shore.

I love it all. I've been on lakes all over Texas, the Colorado river, Lake Havasu, Lake Mohave, and Up and down the California coast. When I bought my boat I told myself that it will never dip it in salt water. I had to move to California and 1 month later I had in the ocean. California coast is too nice not to use. So I'll have to vote on other since I like all three also.

Pitt Lake [ tidal lake] is 20 min from my place .The lake flows through Pitt River , Fraser River to the Georgia Strait.

Starting at the tip of Pitt Lake
