Previous owner bought a 454 from Engines One of Western Branch Diesel in Portsmouth, VA. Only other thing I know about the engine is that it has a 7.4L fuel pump and an upgraded carburator.aquaforce said:
The guy I bought it from said it has 425 hp but I called Western Branch Diesel and they said it has 390.

The boat is overall in fantastic shape for an '87, I'm quite amazed at how well it's been taken care of.
My only issue so far (and it's preventing me from putting it in the water
) is the outdrive is stuck in the down position...
Everything worked fine on the boat except for the speedometer (broken pickup, already replaced), the previous owner even took me out on the water before I bought it.
I had it on the trailer in the yard the other day and put the trim all the day down, and now it won't come back up. The trim switch and pump seem to be working fine. I was told when I bought the boat that the trailer switch doesn't work. I'm wondering if the trim cutoff switch needs to be reset? Also wondering why it would get stuck in the down position and not the up position since the trailer switch doesn't work.
Help anyone? Really want to take it out!!!
