Hi all,

Well, I'm thinking of buying a 1978 Scarab I found in Ohio for about $4,000.00 and a 2003 trailmaster trailer which comes with it. Trailers worth is about $3,890.00. It's on E-bay item #130127435248. It has some problems: wiring, some gauges don't work. And the plane tabs arent working. Do you all think it would be a waste of money to buy this boat?

Looks do-able. Appears to be some moderate corrosion in bilge.
If you could get it for no more than $5K, your best money would be to part it out then use that cash to buy something else. The most $$ would come from selling the TRS drives and the trailer.

If you can get it for 4000 and pay in person when you pick it up i would jump all over it. You could part it out for a lot more if you decided not to keep it. That price is crazy low. There was a 1981 nova II with a single 454 and no trailer that just sold for 3800. Just my opinion.
