Hey guys, I am running a 1995 Mercruiser 7.4L (330HP) ish and a Bravo 1. Just wondering what my max RPM should be? I am playing with props and want to dial it in, but dont want to blow it up!

should be on your carb cover.
most mid 90s non-mag 454s were rated at
300 or 310hp max rpm 4200-4400 due to the
crappy peanut heads they had.

I want to ditch my peanut port heads, I did cut them to up the compession to 8.2, but I run mine at 4800 all day long, aftermarket cam, comp roller rockers

Oh, mine is a 88, valve cover says 330hp, but rpm is 4200-4600, don't see what difference it would make though
I have the '95 454 and it runs 4600 rpms, maybe 4650 on a good day - That equates to 41-43 mph GPS depending on water conditions.
What prop did you go wuth. I have 95 7.4 in a Chaparral deck boat. Currently using 3 blade, just switched to 4 blade but have not put it i the water yet. Need more out of the hole to get out of water faster.
