Hey guys! I just got a new set of heads and i am hoping to put them on tom and get her in Sunday! One of my heads were cracked.

So i was curious if any of your guys new torque specs on
- Intake bolts? cast iron
- head bolts
- the rocker studs in the head?

Also i was curious how to put on the rockers? do i just torque them or do they need adjusting?

last question is there was a plug that came with my heads, one for each. there is a hole that it screws into about half way down the head on the exhaust side... just put some sealer on there and tighten? thanks alot!

The plugs are for coolant temp. sender, on boats plug them and use the provision in the intake.

cyl head torque 80 ftlbs
intake 31lbs

you should really get a shop manual, it doesn't need to be marine specific for what you are doing here, the motor doesn't know if it's in a boat or a vette. There is a specific sequence for adjusting the valves on sb and bb chevys. Also you will need to know the torque sequence on the intake and cyl. heads. good luck, oh use teflon tape on those plugs
Head bolts are 7/16 - 70 lbs.
Check to see if they go through to the water jacket. Pretty sure they do. Use a sealer or they will leak.
