90 degree exhaust tips... quiet at idle....

3902 Views 12 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  DonMan
I have a friend looking for information about add-on exhaust tips that direct the exaust down into the water from his thru hulls. I have seen them before, and have heard them called Donkey Dicks, but can't find any information on them. He's looking for a quick way to quiet the boat at idle, but leave her open at speed. Anyone have any pictures?

Time for my dumb question...
I have Teague Tips and I believe the OD is 4.5 inches. The rubber flappers are on the tip ends. By installing the turndowns they would not be used.

Do you have to use a flapper of some sort with these?

Is there a website we can go to or a phone# we can call? I need a pair of turn downs I like the looks of your GGBs. How much do they run?

their website is.. http://ggb.ca/

But they stopped production on the "Extreme" mufflers a couple of years ago....

The last time I talked to them they were going to start making them again soon, but I haven't heard anything yet...

Do those put the tail pipes under water at idle? Boy that would be nice if they did.
how much were the downturns? I have a friend that is looking to quiet his boat down, GF hates the noise and he doesnt have silent choice. They are'nt listed on their site.

Probably a good idea to run flappers but it is not a must. I have been running these home made turn downs for 4 years with no trouble. Running teagues 4.5" mufflers in front also. I did not se eany reason for the large cut towards the back I left mine to hlep witn noise at cruise. You can not hardly hear it run when idling.

Yes they do....

Before the "turndowns" I was 94 db at idle and couldn't hear sh!t while underway....

With them I am 84 db at idle and now I can hear my passengers saying slow the [email protected] down!!! :) :) :winker:

We need to get after GGB to start making the mufflers and turndowns again...
They had a GREAT product and stopped production for some unknown reason.....

I thought GGB went out of business ?

I bought a few lengths of SS tubing for an exhaust project for my Baja. It seemed that right after that I heard they closed shop.
