Just from looking.....the rods look OK. I did not remove all bearings bud the few I did remove look good as well. I will have this completely gone through and checked with the right tools and machines. I'll be dropping the heads and block off to the machine shop on Tuesday.

Just dropped the power plant off to the machine shop thismorning. He will give me a call back by the end of the week to let me know the extent of the damages, and give me the options .....to bore or not to bore.

Big power...yes...but in another boat. I had intentions on stepping up , just haddn't planned on a fresh rebuild with it. Maybe this will help the boat in the value dept.

With this craft I intend to clean ut the bilge real nice, add some paint and diamond plate. Of course now It will have a freshend 502 motor. I also plan to do some updating inside as well...new carpets and maybe a newly recovered engine hatch. Might even get squirly with the paint end and so something to update that as well.....if not at least a good wetsand and buff at the least. Also the trailer is in need of a sandblast and repaint. What else can I do while the motor is out?

After all this I would start the asking price around 16-18 grand. I want a 29-31 footer with twins, and this would make a nice down payment.

I had nothing to do with shutting her down, did it all on its own.

anyways, here is the 1st pic of the motor cleanup. Sandblasted the intake and painted it. I'll paint the block and accessories to match when I get them back.

Not finding much time to play with the boat, but I managed to paint a couple accessory pullys while I was swinging the gun painting a couple of other items for local customers in the shop today.

I need to make room in the shop for the boat and get going on that while it's down. I got a 56 Dodge resto project in the way right now

Block and haeds will be blue as well. Maybe do Valve covers in an anodized red.<p>Haven't heard from the machine shop yet, but then I am not in a big hurry anyway. I still need to get the bilge resurected. I know how I am, If I get the motor back too soon, I'll have to put it right in and go run it even if the bilge is still a mess. I want it to be looking nice when I put her on the market.
