Just took my 29 outlaw out for the first time. Have figured out all the controls for the boat except for the button labeled court lights which i assume are the cockpit lights. And on the left engine throttle stick it is red with a small up down button what does this control?
Thanx for any input

I would recommend getting someone with more experience to take you and your boat out for a ride. Have someone you know that KNOWS boats well show you the ropes. Maybe a friend, the person whom sold you the boat, salsperson, just someone knowledgeable go for a nice easy ride and figure out these controls. Guessing a 29 Outlaw is going to be fast enough to hurt someone or do some damage. So don't be afraid to ask and get some help. HArd to say what controls are set up on your rig w/o being there seeing them. You could post more info like year of your boat and some one with similar may tell you how their's are, but BE SAFE!! Take time and get used to the boat and how it runs.

That sounds like a good idea.

If there is only one switch on the stick, my guess would be that it controls BOTH drives simultaneously, as compared to the other switches are wired seperately.

Posts like this should concern everyone who came out of the womb knowing all about boats. Isn't that what these boards are for, so people who don't know can ask? :)
I guess you are more concerned then me then, I didn't learn much until I was a toddler. :D

Guy buys a 29 foot long missile, doesn't know what the controls do? Hasn't turned on the boat to press the buttons and find out, and your not concerned?

Yes there are 2 ways to trim the drive ,,,, the trim on the throttle is an option,,,, it allows you control the drive without taking your hands off of the controls it is more convinient and safer.

My 36 actually have 2 in the throttle,,, one does my drives, and one does my tabs

Keep in mind you have to use the dash controls with the " trailer " button to get the drive into trailer position.

I didn't say there was no cause for concern, I was pointing out that at least he's asking. Your reply was entirely appropriate, but maybe offer some helpful advice. I'd rather have someone ask now than be on the water doing 70 and say "Wonder what this does?"

LOL.... funny post...

Rowefour... bring your questions here or take one of us out on your boat and we can show you everything. Friends are here to help. Welcome to speedwake and to the performance boat world.

Take your time and be careful, and it never hurts to ask questions... never...

What part of Ohio are you in and where do you plan on boating?

Frankly, I do not understand the negative responses I have gotten from some of you. My grandfather has had a boat before most of you were born, I am sure. My dad has had boats since he was in high school including a Cigarrette when he got older. He did not know the answer to my question. Of course when buying this expensive of a boat, I had the previous owner take us all on an extensive test run. I bought the boat and did not use it for over a week doing even more reading on a 29' Outlaw. I thought I could turn to guys who may know without being ridiculed. Sincere thanks to all who took my questions seriously and answered them.

I agree, and you should be able to come on here and ask anything with out being hammered. You will find that sometimes you have to have thick skin and not let some of the things bother you.

I wondered where you were in Ohio because I am in Toledo area and boat at this end of the lake.
