Guys,

Any thoughts on a B1/ or an XZ at $1700 + or an XR and $3400 +, behind a 496 HO?.. Bravo 1 props fit all?

Jeff,

What exhaust do you have on your 288/496? Would you do anything different, add or delete options-from Sunsation?

Thanks,

Gilla

I have a 496/ho with a Bravo hooked up to it. I almost ordered the ZR drive from the factory when I was thinking about dropping in my blower motor but in a single engine boat that I really look forward to being reliable, I've decided to stick with the 496/ho because it's gets me where I want to go reliably and economically.

I got the through hull exhaust (no captains choice) and because they exit below the swim platform it's hardly noticable at speed and it has a great throaty sound at docks.

when it comes to options that I purchased I wouldn't change a thing...not a single thing...

I've owned a lot of boats in the past and never had the opportunity to order one exactly the way I wanted until I ordered the 288 and this boat basically represents everything I ever wanted on a boat...

the bottom line.

I love it's lines, I love the way it's built, I love the paint and I love the ergonomics of the cockpit. I honestly would not change a thing on it...

I love the Sunsation Guys and I love my boat... IT RULES!

I have to agree with you jeff. I run the same boat and each time I run it hard in the big water I'm just more impressed with it! Mine also came with the standard Bravo 1 and I think Jeff may agree with me on this one that if my drive blows, I will then up grade and fix my old one fo spare. But so far so good, Knock on wood!

gilla,

the standard bravo is rated to handle 500 hp. the 496/ho is a 425 hp engine and the sunsation 288 is only 4,500 lbs.

this is a great package.

One thing I do know from talking to lots of bravo experts is that if you want to blow up a bravo drive....do a lot of hole shots.... Hole shots are the worst thing for an outdrive....
