On my 96 scarab there are 2 switches 1 for trim and the other for trailer. The trailer switch will only put the drive up. The trim switch will put the drive up or down. The trim switch will raise the drive so far and then stop, to finish raising it the trailer switch must be used.

This weekend the stop on the trim switch stopped working, or the trim switch will raise the drive all the way up. There are no limit switches on my drive.

My question is what was limiting the travel before?

I just ordered the trim/trailer switch assy, 4 wire connections, $34.07.

I need one - where/what's the part#.

Switch works for down, not up. Had to use trailer switch last summer for it to go up.

No Limit switches? I guess I am a little confused. You are saying that the "trim" switch will raise the drive all the way up?

CFM - the part # for the sending unit kit from merc is 805321A 1. However, '05 book show $88.40, so I am wondering if everyone is talking about the same thing. This "kit" has the trim limit & trim guage sending units. I don't think you can buy just one or the other. The trim switch with for wires sounds like the switch on the control box/ helm.

My drive uses parts 10 and 11 instead of parts 3 - 9.

Before this last weekend when using the up side trim switch the drive would raise to the top of the trim position but not any further, not it will go all the way up to the trailer position.

OK, now I get it. I am not familar with what dictates trim limit with that setup. I am sure someone else will chime in here. Sounds like you may have a short somewhere.
