As requested....... Gel is sprayed into the hull mold after a few coats of wax are applied.

A first skin is then applied. This is to keep the mat from printing through.

Hey Brian, I am heading to the shop in a few minutes and I will measure the cockpit area for you. It is not huge but how much room do you have in a Porsche ??? :D Dave

HAHAHA that reminds me of something. When I was about 13 one of my friends older brothers was given a Porsche 944S2 cab. We were hanging out admiring the "cool older kids" and they started talking about positions you'd have to be in to have sex in that car. If it can be done in a 944, a Z3, or a boxster, it can be done anyplace.

Thanks for the pictorial essay on boat building, it is pretty cool. When building the molds did you use a foam core that was CNC machined?

Brian, It has a back seat and it will seat 2 comfortably maybe 3 if you squeeze. The boat only has a 7' beam. This is where you get a great ride in the rough stuff. Here is a pic of the cockpit area where the seat is molded into the part. Again, NO WOOD in this boat at all. Thanks, Dave

Sorry, I can't find the pic but I will snap one and post later. Dave

The 39' was a CNC cut mold, a Mike Peters design and VERY expensive !!! But it was then changed. The 29' is all hand tooled. Dave
