Can I get by? Lake Limit

In a couple of weeks I'm going to a lake in southeast ohio called seneca lake. It has a 299hp limit. :wtf My boat has 300hp. You think I can slide by for the weekend or does the boat patrol have some magic gizmo that will rat me out.

do you have captain's call? if so I'd just run it through the hub all weekend to avoid drawing attention. You could always argue you weren't sure if the power limit was rated at the prop or crank? :D never heard of a limit that high usually its like 10 hp or unlimited.

If you think you have 300 hp, I bet a dyno would tell you that you have 265, so don't worry about it :laugher:

Tell'm it was a west coast dyno as we know they are usually 10-12% higher than east coast dynos. :laugher:

Another stupid law.

So - is that corrected or uncorrected dyno # ? LOL.

So many ways to get uncorrect dyno figures it will make your head spin.


Give me a break on this one.

Another case of the uneducated making laws on subjects they have no idea about.

When I go into office first laws I'll make will be geared towards quantum physics engineers since I ihave no, and will never have any, clue as to what they do and how they do it.

Stupid law gets a stupid answer/treatment...lol

I had a State Guy pull me before in the EVO and ask me why I didn't have a protective grill in front of my radiator..... And is a Intercooler... Stupid is what stupid does I tell em...

Keep in mind that even though it is tagged with a 300hp sticker, its usually an estimated HP rating. Unless of course you had it dynoed and it is a true 300hp or more.

You can always tell them you detuned the engine as well.

Here it is. I wouldn't make this chit up. I don't even thing that my engine has 300hp on it just 350 mag.

I do have captains call so I will probably keep it shut most of the day. I was wondering though if there was something I could do to make it legally under 300. How about a towel over the flame arrestor. :laugher: :laugher:

You know what, a law like that would make me want to go build som rip snortin small block and make it look like a sub-300hp engine.

Oh wait, I did do that ! They put a 45 mph speed limit on my lake so I instantly built a motor to go 15mph faster.

Just checked the block and the flame arrestor cover, no indication on it about hp. A quess that weekend it will have how ever much I say it has.

Personally I would find another lake to boat on and not spend a dime in that community. But that's me.

Its just a weekend trip for a friends Bachelor party. Personally I'd rather go to PIB.
