Career Change

It is official as of today, just told my current boss the news. On July 14th I will be starting a new job as a claims adjuster for Geico. A lot different from what I'm doing now and definitely out of my element until I get accustomed to it. I have schooling for 3 months, 1 month in Rockville MD, 1 in DC, and 1 again in Rockville. Then I'll be 15 minutes from home. Beats the 1.5 hour drive I have now and more perks, M-F done at 4. I get my weekends back!!

Good luck Mike. My career change was for the better as well, but the drive went from 5 minutes to 50. I can say I love my new job. Been there just a hair over 3 months and have had 2 raises and 2 bonus checks

Congrats Hap.... Hope it all works out. :)
Congratulations Hap.

You obviously didn't care for the current job.
Good luck with the new one. I'm sure you'll do well.

I like my current job, just at the wrong store for me. If I could ahve transferred to the North East West Marine, I would have stayed.
Good luck Dude ;) .
I was referring to the lengthy commute.
Good luck with the new opportunity.

no positions open, i'd have to step back a notch or two and take a hit in pay. my boss is actually a good friend of mine outside of work. he's happy for me and said i can always come back. this was actually my 2nd stint with West Marine.
