Do any of you have Captin's Call on your boat? I do and my question is....On my lower unit there were Bellows that hooked from the Exhaust pipe to the Unit to send it thru the prop. Notice I say were, one is completely gone. I don't know what happened to it. It was on there but now it is gone, and the other is all torn and has large holes in it. Should I replace these or not, I never run it thru the prop anyway, just straight thur the transom. Is it gonna hurt anything if I leave em off ( took the torn one off )? Or should I replace em?

You knew I would have a answer. FA18Driver,what year is your boat? I have a 1990 with Captains Call and do not use bellows . And you can still use the Captain's Call,the bellows are just not necessary.

When I say not needed,they never were on from the factory.

Thanks Paul, Mine is a 96 290 O/S they call it on the Title It had them on it at one time. Like I said one just went Bye Bye and the other I took off. That is what I wanted to hear, leave em off!!:bandit: I never run the thing thru the prop no way. So what motor you got in your? 454??? mine has twin 454 mags, 385 hp but last time apart I swapped cams intakes carbs to pump it up a bit should be good for 410hp or maybe a little more. I saw about 4 mph increase when I got it back together.

Got a stock 502 in mine. The only upgrade is the Gil Offshore I put on last year. I picked up about 2-3 mph from the exhaust.


I was going to install a Holley 830 carb, Merlin Manifold,and Gaffrig flame arrestor. This is the stuff I ordered (used) from the guy in California that came in damaged. The stuff was mint with only 8-10 hrs. of run time. The carb alone costs $630.00 new from Holley.I only paid $650.00 for everything,including a stainless t-stat hsg. and billet polished throttle bnracket.It's about $1600.00 worth of stuff.

Thats why I was so pis*ed. Since he insured it thru the post office he should still collect his money,maybe more depending on how much he insured it for. So sell it to me or sell it to the post office, he really doesn't care. Like you stated ,he most likely would rather see me have it,but it doesn't look good.

I was also going to change the cam. Now I am not sure what to do. Maybe just Whipple the muther

Yep whipple or a vortech? Either one will wake that puppy up for sure!!!:laugher: Yea it is a real BIT*CH about the parts....man I would have gone bullistict on them at the post office. But wouldn't do any good other than make you feel a little better.Did you take my advice and drink heavily last night?????? That motor Jeff has is the Chit man, really the way to go for sure I know how Chicago weather is, the whole east is seeing some record temps this week? I saw were DC had 87 yesterday I thinkit was?
