Has anyone used these guys for tips, mufflers and drive showers? Do they have a quality product?

I actually just installed the tips this winter, so I havn't even fired it up yet, but Mike (ship4brains) put his on last winter, and used them all summer.

He bought the slip in silceners. I don't think he used them much at all. He said they did quiet it down some, but he liked it better with out them. I'm sure he will chim in when he sees this.

For your sake, get the slip-ins. I throw them in when boating on our smaller local lakes where the locals tend to get a little uppity about the volume. I keep em out on the big lake ( LOTO ) as my 496, even with open exhaust sounds like a moped compaired to the big boats.

They do quiet the boat down some....not as quiet as the factory Corsa mufflers that came with the boat ( i couldn't fart through those things ) but they do help. I'm not sure of the DB output with them in or out....

The slip ins shown on that site appear to be identical to the pair I have. Cheap insurance if they help keep your boat legal.

The internal flappers on the hardin marine tips are rubber and are said to not be noisey. BS. The first time I fired my boat up with the new tips in, I thought I lost a wrench in the engine somewhere....don't let this scare you. This only happens the first seconds of running the engine. Once water flows out the exhaust they are then quiet.

Something I like about the Hardin tips....THEY ARE EASY TO KEEP CLEAN. After a year of use and many hours on the water, they still look like new. All I use to clean them is 50/50 vinegar and water. The Corsa tips were sumbeaches to clean...I don't know why the Hardin tips are easier....lime and gunk wipes right off with vinegar and water mixture
