I did a side job at work for the boss's son. I was originally going to do a sweet shiny black with ghost flame job. He saw it when it was all sanded down and thought it would look cool flat black. I disagreed, but he convinced me that flat is what he wanted. Three days later I gave in and went with his wishes. Actually looks pretty cool after all......
This has been done for about a week now. I can say "so far so good". He does keep it clean. You do have to dry it after washing as it will leave water spots real easy. But man it does clean up real well with good 'ol soap and water. Looks just as great as it did right after it came out of the spray booth.
James Hetfield (Metallica) has a bad azz late-model F150 done in flat black with a lot of other goodies. His was done about 4 years ago. His truck was the first late-model I had seen in flat black.
I love flat black on classics, but ever since all the teeny boppers starting rattle canning their POS civics in flat black and claiming "old school" it's sort of ruined the look for me on anything newer. and the Altezza style tail lights really isn't helping get the civic image out of my head.
Nice work. I like it. I have a Black/Tan F350 Dually LE and I have thought out it.
He needs to finish the job and get the badges off, the BSM off, and get black rims or PC those rims flat black. Some smoked LED tail lights and Harley Edition Ford headlights will put it over the top.
