Has anyone heard that Full Tilt Marine in Grasonville will no longer be a Formula Dealer?

From my source there will be a new Formula dealer to serve the Chesapeake Bay area. There should not be any disruption in service but if anyone is in the market for a Formula, I suspect Full Tilt will be dumping their inventory at fire sale prices!

I heard it and checked the Formula website a few weeks ago. They listed NAMG as the local Formula dealer for that area. Seems Full Tilt is dropping them and someone else picked them up.
I understand it was Formula who did the dropping!

Full Tilt has gone down hill this year and have lost many of their top sales people.
I tried to buy my 33SS from them but the sales person, who is still there, dropped the ball and didn't get back to me with the price of a windless! The 33SS they had in stock didn't have one from the factory, he was going to get a price to have it installed there. Never heard back from the guy!

Trenton was on top of everything for me from start to finish. Even sent a tech to my house in Maryland to replace the piston on one trim tab that was leaking.

And I thought buying in New Jersey was a ride! :confused1
I'm refering to Magicfloat (Robert) who is a roughly 40 year Formula dealer in Alabama. Although relatively new here he has been a prime example of Formula's excellent customer service. My current boat came from him and the boat was EXACTLY better than I was expecting! He is one of the few that will loose a dollar to keep his integrity intact.

I've talked with him and in that short exchange, I knew that. Sounds like a great guy!

Over the years, Buffalo, rochester, and syracuse have had a number of Formula dealers that have come & gone. Really puts a damper on buying a Formula when you have to drive (4)hours min. to get to a dealer. Especially when reggie has had the same dealer for about (20)years for Fountain.

Seems like very poor sales management on Formula's part. too bad, as they build a great product.

Got a letter from NAMG today annoncing they are representing Formula....got another letter from Full tilt. The sentence "Formula's business philosophies have moved in a different direction than Full Tilt Marine's and the two are no longer compatible." Not sure what that means but I plan on doing a little digging. They are also announcing 30% off every Formula on their lot.....can't you pretty much get that anyway????

Hey Robert, send me a PM or email....is anything changing on Formula's end????

I can't attest for the part of the world where you live but down my way the opposite is more the truth. Reggie's habit of undercutting prices with boats direct from the factory has lost him more dealers than you can shake a stick at!

In the case and point of this thread, the dealer who lost Formula has lost other boat lines. They were the only Sonic dealer here for a long time, not any more.

Don't know who dumped who, but in the last 20 years or so, Formula has changed dealers 6 times in my area. The present one is no help at all if you didn't buy the boat from them. On the other hand, the people at Formula are top shelf.. :D

The person who told me about Full Tilt said Formula had meetings with their top dealers and wanted commitments to sell 10 million in product next year. Full Tilt said bite me!

I suspect before a company like Formula does something like that they have a back up plan ready to move on. Formula probably wanted Full Tilt gone so they could give the franchise to a established dealer in the same area who wanted the line.

I will tell you this, if the treatment I got when I was trying to buy from Full Tilt is typical of all their sales. I'm amazed they are still in business!

Jake is right about the support from the Formula factory. I called to see if someone there could tell me how the cooling line for the AC was routed on my boat. The guy I talked with said there was a 33SS on the line and he would take some pictures and e-mail them to me. I figured I may have them in a few days.

I had a load of pictures from this guy in 20 minutes!

I tried to get some touchup paint from the local dealer just after i bought the Fastech. Was only 3 years old and they said because they didn't sell it they have no records to look up. I told them i had the Formula invoice with all the info, but they refused to help. I called Formula, gave them the HIN # and in 3 days had 3 1/2 pint cans of imron for the graphics. Any time i have called Formula, they do everything possible to help.
I also told them what i think of the local dealer.
