My wife ordered and just recieved a Glastron brochure. She likes the new Glastron/Carlson CSS 24 !
Not exactly a Fastboat ???
Its going to be awhile till I can get to a dealer to see one .
Anyone ever checked one of these out or priced one ?

Well they are the guys that built the original Bat Boat right?

Their old boats have lines and styling that is in my opinion timeless and they've been responsible for some of the most beautiful boats ever made...

not exactly a SLOW BOAT either....

last year I agonized over buying aol old glastron carlson with a small block chevy in it...

If I were a lake boater it would have been perfect but the water gets pretty rough on the boat and although I wanted it as a second boat, I knew I'd be disappointed.

It's hard to go one mile and go water skiing when you're used to traveling a hundred or more miles in a day.

Best engine option is the 496 Magnum (425 hp) with a Bravo one.
Boat weight is 3580 lbs, with std Volvo Penta.

Maybe not too slow ! I'm more interested in ride & comfort than speed nowdays !
Got to be able to get in without killing myself !

the 496/ho pushes my 4700 lbs boat through the water mid 60's so I'm sure that boat would break 70.... that makes it a Fast Boat!

496HO in a 24 should hit around 70 unless its overly heavy, or bad hull design.

2002 Glastron/Carlson CSS24.

Any opinions ?

Just priced one, base = $45,400
With the options I want = $61,000

Good thing, 3-4 weeks delivery time !

Will the wife spend that much, very doubtful ! :(

There`s a tiny, little Glastron dealer here in town that still has a Carlson CSV 21 in stock. A brand-new 2000 model! It has the 454 MPI / Bravo One set-up. He says he took it out and it ran 62 (on speedo) consistantly. About a year ago, he was asking $29K for it......
