How and what do you use to clean the screen. My son got in the boat the other day and left some of the snaps off on the cover. Well it rained and it blew in and left spots all over it. I for got to put the GPS cover on. :(

Garmin GPS?

I can't recall ever needing anything other than a soft cloth to dust it off.

What have you tried on it so far?

Windex comes to my mind as something that would take water spots off the screen.

OK, I pulled my Garmine owner's manual out for my 172C.

Page 87, cleaning the GPS.

First I want to point out that Garmine says in this section that the unit will withstand being submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes!

Cleaning the screen is done with a soft cloth lightly dampened with a mild detergent.

The lens, as they call it, has a anti-reflective coating that can be damaged with ammonia based cleaners.

Don't apply the cleaning solution directly on the lens, apply a small amount of the cleaner on a soft cloth and wipe the lens. Wipe dry after cleaning.
