Let me get this straight . . . .
We're going to be "gifted" with a health care
plan we are forced to purchase and
fined if we don't,
Which purportedly covers at least
ten million more people,
without adding a single new doctor,
but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents,
written by a committee whose chairman
says he doesn't understand it,
passed by a Congress that didn't read it but
exempted themselves from it,
and signed by a President who smokes,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who
didn't pay his taxes,
for which we'll be taxed for four years before any
benefits take effect,
by a government which has
already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare,
all to be overseen by a surgeon general
who is obese,
and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!

'What the shell could
possibly go wrong?'

This is what some one sent me in regards to the first post here.

You all know me. You know I am opinionated. With that said, read forward with caution. Many of my friends are staunch Republicans born and bred in the bible belt of Pennsylvania. What unnerves me is the amount of uneducated assumptions that almost all of them make. I am talking about our president Barack Obama. I don't know if it is the hillbilly culture around here, or if they just come alive for politics because there is a black man making decisions for them. Yes, race is a issue. As much as most of them will try to play it down and say it isn't, it is.

Let me just start off by saying I am not a Democrat, Republican, or anything for that matter. I vote for the person, not the party. So let's go over a bunch of complaints that I see being made on a daily basis and give them some answers. Unbiased, Fact Checked Answers. Maybe I can shed some light on their apparent Dismal "Obama is the Anti-Christ" attitude. Granted, I will not change any minds. I know how they work. I would even be surprised if any of them have read past this point.

1. Where is his birth certificate?

In the first half of 2008, a number of rumors swirling around about presidential candidate Barack Obama coalesced in the claim that he "refused to produce his birth records" because doing so would demonstrate some or all of those rumors to be true: that Barack Obama was "not African," that he was a Muslim with a middle name of Mohammed, that he wasn't born in the United States at all (and thus didn't qualify as a natural-born citizen), etc.

In any event the rumormongers were likely to be disappointed. Information about religion and race, when it was collected for birth records, simply reflected whatever the parents identified themselves to be; those values weren't officially assigned to the newborn children as immutable labels. And of course, no infant

has any control over whatever names his parents choose for him.

As things turned out, when the Obama campaign made a copy of his Certification of Live Birth from the State of Hawaii available on the Internet in June 2008, it validated none of those rumors: The certificate shows his full name to be "Barack Hussein Obama II", it lists his father's race as "African" and his mother's as "Caucasian," it contains no information about religion, and it reports his birthplace as being Honolulu, Hawaii.

A number of self-proclaimed experts immediately seized the opportunity to pronounce the certificate a forgery (even though none of them had actually seen the original, just a scanned image of it), picking on such specious details as minor variations from other Hawaii-issued certificates and the lack of an embossed seal and signature. (Some forgery claimants even maintained that the certificate was actually an altered version of one issued to Barack Obama's half-sister, Maya.)

Aside from the inherent absurdity of such claims (i.e., that a major party presidential nominee would risk his entire candidacy on a fraud that could be uncovered simply by a check of state health records), the supposedly incriminating details don't pan out: the certificate is consistent with others issued in the same time and place, and the embossed seal and signature don't show through very well on the scanned front image made available on the Internet because they were applied to the back of the original document, not the front. Those who have actually touched and examined the original certificate have verified and documented that it bears all the elements of a valid certificate of live birth.

Bottom Line: He was born a United States Citizen. Period.

2. You will be forced to purchase insurance you can't afford.

False. Stop making **** up. The Affordable Care Act will make health insurance affordable for everyone, with tax credits for those who need help buying coverage and a hardship waiver for those who still can't afford it. This ensures that everyone is protected from bankruptcy and has access to care. It also reduces the "hidden tax" that people with insurance pay to cover the health care costs of people without insurance. Otherwise the cost of caring for the uninsured will continue to be shifted to people with insurance, as it is today.

Bottom Line: This is made up by (probably by fox news)

3. Businesses will suffer under health reform.

Just another "right winged scare you ******** propaganda tactic". Health insurance reform lowers costs for American businesses - especially small businesses - who are struggling to remain profitable and competitive under the status quo. The independent Congressional Budget Office confirmed that the bill would lower health insurance premiums for the same insurance plan by up to 4 percent for small businesses and 3 percent for large businesses, and the Business Roundtable estimated that provisions to help bend the health care cost curve like those in the bill could save $3,000 per person in health costs. Now that surely doesn't sound like what dipshit Sarah Palin said. Why? Because she is a dimwit.

Bottom Line: Business' will actually pay less. Yes less. You heard me, less. Stop helping to spread lies and rumors.

4. Health reform will lead to a government takeover of health care.

OMFG!!!!!!! Stop being so stupid!! Educate yourselves for once! The Affordable Care Act puts people, not health insurance companies or government, in charge of health care. The new law strengthens the existing employer-based health insurance market while making the market fair for consumers by implementing landmark consumer protections. Families and individuals that don't have access to affordable coverage can receive tax credits to help them purchase coverage in the private health insurance market. There is no government-sponsored, public, or "single payer" plan in the law.

Bottom Line: You don't have to worry about the government being all up in your healthcare biz. Aight? Stop being such a toobag and listening to your "Uncle Kletus" and his "polotickin theories".

These were the main ones I see constantly. Another one I hear a lot is "I have to work everyday so lazy asses can sit at home and do nothing while I pay for their health insurance and Unemployment". Ok, I'll give you that one. There are just some lazy fucks out there that are milking the system. What you don't realize is, for every 1 of them there are 20 others that rely on it and need it until they can find a job again. In all honesty, Many of us are only 1 paycheck away from being 1 of those 20 people. You wanna help lower healthcare? Tell grandma to not go to the doctor 2-3 times a week just because her toe hurts. The main reason why healthcare is so high is because of petty visits to doctors by the elderly. It's been proven to be a big drag on the system.

Think you have a downside? Try me. I'll be glad to find you the facts. Just don't be so quick to blame the president when he is truly trying to help all of you. Support your president. I hated George W Bush but I supported him. Why? Because he was MY PRESIDENT. The same as I will support Barack Obama. I didn't vote for him, but he is OUR PRESIDENT! Any of you wishing him to fail should be considered anti-american. Why would you wish that the person running your country fail? Shame on you.

Tell me what you think.

Everyone here knows my political leaning. I have a tough time with the cradle to grave mentality of the "help me" crowd catered by the liberal candidates buying votes.

All of the items listed by Horse Power is noise. 90% of conservative voters see through that kind of rhetoric. I understand that the 10% who believe that noise are the most outspoken and very annoying to the left.

My problem with the man currently occupying the White House is, the man is in over his head and sinking the country!

Horsepower, you should really research what you post. Let me respond to your points.

1. Who cares. A small percentage of extreme right wingers raised this birth certificate issue, which is their right. The president could have instantly put the issue to rest by simply having his administration respond to the question. I could prove my birthplace in 15 seconds.

2. Yes, we will be forced to buy into the health care system. It is clearly written in the bill that the system will enforce fining citizens who choose to be self insured.

3. Yes, businesses will suffer financially. Why do you think that hundreds of companies have been provided waivers, thereby releasing them from having to participate in the new system? Because the cost to them for this idiotic plan would be crushing. Small businesses and restaurants can't possibly afford to offer health care to all of their employees. And these companies that were granted waivers are of course financial supporters of Obama.

4. This is a goverment takover of healthcare. What more of a definition of takeover do you need? This plan is basically instructing businesses and citizens how they need to manage THEIR healthcare.
