Hole in Y-Pipe

903 Views 18 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  wtfo
I took my boat out this weekend and there is a 1/4 to 1/2 hole in the top of my Y-Pipe under the drive shaft. Does the whole pipe need to be replaced or does someone have an easy fix?

Thank you

Not sure about the repair, but if you need to replace it I have a complete Corsa captains call exhaust and y-pipe I need to sell.
Cookin Pics? I would like to see If I could make the setup work. [email protected] if you have pics or post them here.
Can you please post pictures of it and how much do you want for the setup?
I'll post pics tomorrow. But I would like to get 350 plus shipping. The system is complete.Just need tips and an on /off switch. My new cam will cause reversion with it so it has to go. :unhappy1:
Do you have the parts numbers for it? Will this setup work with a 5.0LX motor?
Cook, is this the std straight out back or some other configuration. I'm looking for the 180 turn straight down then out back to clear the molded in platform.
That is exactly what I have.Turn down.

I have two "Y" pipes that are LIKE NEW. Maybe 20 hours of run time and it is not even noticeable. The only thing that is noticeable is that they were mounted at one time and that is it.
I want $75 plus shipping for each.
Anyone interested can email me [email protected]
I have the complete system out.I"ll post pics of it tomorrow.
Are you talking about the pipe that routes exhaust/water out of the drive....(under the drive shaft)

If so the items in the pics are a part of what you need if you have thru-hull exhaust. The black piece that routes wxhaust to the drive isn't expensive either but will require the engine be removed to get to it.

Also, Not sure but aren't these parts Big Block/Small Block specific......be sure to get the right ones.
I have the y-pipe.It all goes together. The Corsa system is either big or small block. The y pipe is for a small block.I don't know if it fits a big block.I think it might though.

My understanding, from Rex Marine, is that the merc "Y" pipe is the same for bbc/sbc/bravo/alpha.

That's correct, they're the same.

I have to ask - what kind of hole? Er, what caused the hole...as I haven't heard of this before? I picked up a couple of new ones for less than $100 each from eBay, but just because they're cheap doesn't mean I wan to change them too often. :yak:
Well I had someone look at it today and they don't know how it happened. He said he has no clue what could have caused it because there is no corrosion. So I am assuming it isn't a common problem.

Aquaforce...the place that looked at it said that they think they have one in stock and they will sell it to me for the same price. He is going to check tonight. If they don't have one I will call you tomorrow.

Thank you

I'm in the mode of getting rid of things I don't need or have a use for...
