I have a bunch of buddies that do. MattBmiller here has a ford superduty that runs pretty hard. I have a few buddies with some mean cummins and a few others with some mean duramaxes, diesels are cool, but too damned expensive.

too many horror stories of idiots with blown up diesels to mess with it.

what is this shim mod you are talking about?BIG MACZ said:'05 GMC Crew with Duramax LLY/Allison. EFI live tune, Downpipe back Magnaflow 4", Airaid Intake, BD drivers side manifold with EGT. Shim mod on regulator, 37" Tires with 4.56 Gears. It's cool to smoke big ole tires!![]()
You put a shim (washer) under the spring in the Fuel Presure regulator and it helps prevent bursting or starvation at higher RPM's and with added fuel from programing or an aggressive programer.23scarab said:what is this shim mod you are talking about?
23scarab said:I bought mine for work too... said I was going to keep it stock, but that lasted about 5,000 miles. I know what you are saying though, alot of people are nuts and run their trucks on "kill", the're always in the shop. Banks is very safe, it is more money than others but I think it is worth it, I just don't run it in high settings when towing, this truck sees 10k+ behind it on a regular basis. I've got 66,000 miles and have never had a problem at all........so far.
i'm not a ford fan but that is one sweet lookin truck :vcol:MattBMiller said:At the show again
