I'm curious.... How far do some of you travel to get to your boat for a ride? Is your boat docked right in front of your home? Do your trailer everytime you use it? If so how far away is the ramp or marina where you start from your home?

Seems to me the bigger the boat the better it is not to have to trailer it everytime you use it.... Your Thoughts?

This has to be up there....Just about 5 1/2 hours from Hartford CT, to the 1000 Islands. Boat is kept on a lift at my family's place right outside of Morristown, NY (NY side across from Brockville). Made the trip every weekend from Beginning of June to the end of July. At first it was tough but you get used to it. Oil Company's and EZ-pass love me :D Monday mornings can be tough, especially when it is nice and you don't get off the water till 7 Sunday night! :dead:

My regular marina is about 15 minutes away. I have a covered shelter for my boat there, which comes in handy on those late nights coming off the lake and I don't think I should be towing home. But I usually trailer it. I like to keep an eye on it in my yard.

About 40 Minutes away. I keep it on the rack. Alot easier than towing it every time I want to use it. Also, after a long week-end on the boat, I don't have to dread pulling it out. Just tie off at the dock, and they pull the boat out. Never sits in the water for very long.

3.5 hours to Erie.

Do I get a prize for the longest drive? :)

The reason is that we get kind of bored with the Ohio river after awhile and the closest "major" lakes to Cincinnati are Cumberland and Erie. They are both the same distance away.
