checking my records...i spent $2,243.09 between june 19th through today in boat fuel. i was running my 24' sea ray weekender through june and bought my powerquest on june 20th.

that ofcourse is not counting my cash records which i did not record.

boat fuel + payment + rack & launch + drinks + insurance + boat u.s. + maintenance + repairs - im not about to add all that up. makes me feel like i'd be rich if i wasn't a boater.

just curious how much everyone else spent in fuel alone.

We have friends with a sail boat.

They claim there is more gas in the tank now than at the beginning of the season and didn't add any to the tank!

:laugher:

I keep all my receipts so I can get the fuel tax refund Virginia offers to recreational boaters.

I will let you know when I'm done boating. I know it's way more than you though.

I put about 70 hours on the boat this year.

Idle = 2.5 GPH, wide open=30 GPH.

sooooooo 20x70=1400

1400*3.30 (premium on land) = $4620 ish?

Wow, didn't realize I spent that much...I Coulda bought a quad, car, motorcycle, snowmobile, etc hahha

Motor came out 3 times this summer which limited me to about 50 hours running. Roughly 1,500 galons at $3+- a gallon is $4,500.00. I'll be filling her tomorrow AM for one last weekend trip and she's done for the year. :unhappy1:

935 miles on GPS divided by 1.3 mpg average = 716 gallons X average $2.70 per gallon (89 octane) =$1933 give or take a little(probably give) :laugher: :laugher:

Hey , I never saw a Brinks truck following a Hearse. In other words , you can't take it with you

I DO NOT want to know! :dead1:

I put on about 55 hours so I'm sure it's a good chunk. As much as I would love to have a bigger boat with twins I think the gas would kill me. Unless I can find a hot little sugar momma! LOL

I have never, and will never, total up how much fuel I burn in a boat. The boat needs fuel, I give it fuel. I run out of rum, I buy more rum, same thing.

I am afraid to add up how much I spend on fuel and rum :( :D
oh dont get me wrong...im not complaining a bit. curiousity killed the cat as i was updating some other records.

i agree 100% w/what someone else said on here...cant take it w/you! :)

Last summer I ran 2,450 miles...also with 540's, I really don't want to calculate that one!!!

Roughly $4,700 on Fuel, $700 on boose, $600 on Food (we cooked on the boat nearly every weekend, so not too many restaurant fees), $8,500/yr payments and ins. for a rough grand total of almost $15,000/yr on this hobby - WOW, first time I've ever figured out how much this hobby really costs me, maybe it's time for a new hobby :D :D :D

Geeze, and the wife wants to know why we can't take 2 tropical vacations a year   :laugher:

I think I read somewhere in a boating magazine about an artical for people wanting to get into boating but were concerned about the cost. In a nutshell, the article said to roughly double the payment for actual cost of ownership.....not too far off in my case.
