Need some help guys. I need a steering column that will bolt up to a Char Lynn hydraulic helm. I also have a Momo Spargi wheel that I will be bolting to it. Who has the best deals on these. Thanks

That is perfect! I knew you would come through for me Dave :D Did it completely cover up the hole from the exisiting steering? Did you have to fabricate any backing plates for this? Also do you know who manufactured the column since getting it from Trick is probably out of the question :dead: Thanks

Does it come in gold?! :D
To match my teef?

Speaking of bling, some of my guage surrounds are starting to corrode, so I need to order new ones, they are currently silver/brushed aluminum. My boat is all white with grey and black....wonder what color I should order? Gold?

I was actually thinking of switching to black :D

ooooooh just saw the carbon fiber.

I actually had to make the original hole a little bigger. Yes, I made 2 backing plates. You can buy them too. I just used a piece of aluminum plate that I had laying around.

This might of been where it oringinally came from? Oh, and BTW, I paid WAY less than what is listed here. If I recall I got mine for $175

175! Man I have only seen them for around 400. What was the need for the backing plate just for more support against the fiberglass? Did put them on both sides of the dash and sandwhich them in with the helm and column?
The backing plates are between the helm unit and the back of the dash. I used them for more support and to take up space. I might of been able to get away with buying smaller bolts going through the steering post and the helm unit.

You are going to LOVE full steering! It made a HUGE handling diff.
Here's a pic. I used two plates, about 1/8" thick each. The first plate I cut square with a hole in the middle and the second I cut round. I bought 90's for the hoses too. They really helped with the rigging. Give me a call if you have any questions.

Yeah dumb question....looked at your pics a little more closely and thought about it some more and kinda figured thats what they would be used for. I am getting pretty excited to get this project started/completed because I know this will be a good update. Thanks for all the help so far....can't tell ya how much I appreciate it

That looks like a Mayfair column available thru Hardin Marine. I have the samething in my Hustler with my Mayfair system. It is a very nice piece. I also have a Momo wheel, and it has multiple tapped holes, including one that'll work with a Momo wheel.

Contact Jeff @Hardin Marine in Palm Coast, Florida. He's the steering guy and should be able to help you out.
