that is some intense sailing, hmmm maybe a bit bigger water than I would want to run in.

That second set of filming of the Apache looked like they were running it on the ragged edge, I thought they might bite one.

That Apache Run was INTENSE...

How do their engines stay cooled when their out of the water almost more than their in..?????? Must be hard on the pumps, and other things..

I've always wondered about that... :confused1

I'd take this one. I think it's based out of Annapolis. This was taken in Tampa Bay during the tall ships festival.

That's the Coast Guard Eagle. It's a training ship for the CG Academy. It's home port is at the USCG Academy in New London Ct.

It looks like a "snore" to sail, but...
Try it sometime when the wind is above 20-25kts and see if it is not physically demanding.

The great thing about "Class Sailing" is everyone has the exact same boat.
So when you are out there you are matching YOUR skills against your competition. Not against his sponsors deep pockets.

Like IROC.... how would you like to race boats that are all alike and match your driving/throttle skills against the next guy.

That is racing. ( IMHO )
