I guess he had a nest nearby, but he didn't budge the whole time we were there, screeched at us everytime we came close. I started to taunt him, but then thought he might attack me and I'd end up as the comic relief on 'when animals attack'! :laugher:

Yep, Killdeer. My driveway is stone/gravel. All +,-800 feet of it :dead: Anyways, I get KDs nesting in the driveway about every two years. The eggs are about impossible to see, even when your looking right at them. And Momma bird isn't much help when she knows you're looking for the eggs or chicks. Cool when they do the "injured wing" act.

Take a good look at the 1st pic. You can see 3 eggs right behind her.

Can't blame a mom for being so assy when you that close to her babies :lick:

Looks like a single loner egg to her right too.

I would think she might use the decoy method and be far from the eggs :confused:
