In a word - YES.

Consider that a regular impeller is $25 or so and that you can buy a blue run-dry for $44 online .....

I just installed a run-dry and tested it real good the first time I started the engine. I had a brain fart and installed the intake hose on the discharge port.
I kept starting the boat and waiting for water. Then I`d shut it down and scratch my head, then start it again , etc...
Finally noticed the hose reversal and voila !
anyone with a water pressure guage tried them?

curious is it effects it or not
Usually when I toast an impellor do to no water, the housing is junk too.
