Have a pair on a 35 Donzi ZF seem to be very dependable. Always check 2 stroke oil levels before use...they consume alot.

When you say 300 pro max outdrive do you mean 300 promax outboard?

And when you say 300 pro max outboard do you mean a 300 pro max or a 300x pr max?

The Prom max was made from 98-01 if I recall correctly. Put out about 285 horsepower and is a good dependable motor.

The 300x started in 2001 and ran until 2005/6 if I remember right. and puts out over 300 hp.

There was a batch in the 2004-2005 time frame that got bad cranks, but I wouldnt worry too much about it.

I popped my 300x by having some bad gas with about 240 hours on it. I turn it 6500-7000 all day every day.

Fuel use on my 300x is reasonable as is the oil use. I never pay much attention, but usually about 5 gallons of oil per 70 gallon tank of fuel seems about normal.

Which Cat with a single 300 are you looking at? There is a real nice 24 skater with a 300x out on Long island for sale, if I could sell my hull I would strongly consider doing a similar set up.
