Important info for those on this list! I add a link to everyone's boat on the list.

Treat this link as your home page/post for your boat . You can update/edit it any time. Pics / info/what have you. That way people looking at the list can click on anyone's link to see more info about that particular boat.

Whenever you update your 'home' post, just make sure to let us know by posting a new post on this thread. Edited posts don't send out notifications.New Posts Do.

===========================================

Okay, I've been really involved (forum wise) with a handful of 'microboats' lately. IE: Smaller single engine I/O's.

I am using the term 'micro' to mean 'small or smaller than average.' It is not being used as 'tiny' or 'the smallest' or 'miniature' or anything like that.

Note: again, these aren't really 'micro's' in true essence of the term but it makes many of us feel that way when most talk is about 32-40'+ boats.

I've been thinking that a Microboat (smaller boat) in this thread should be less than 23 ft in actual length (not counting swim platforms)- a V Hull and I/O (sterndrive)

Below are boats that have been added. You post to this and meet the requirememnts and I edit/add it to this list. It is really growing quick !

Edited 10/02/06 - above boat does have an arneson, so yes, against my prerequisites, however I didn't really think someone would be crazy enough to add an Arneson surface drive on a microboat, so that wasn't even a thought. Anyway - I'm leaving it there cause it so damn badd azz !!!!

So, other members chime in with your Microboats info and I will add it to the list.

Note: This is for those in the forum that want to see how fast some of these Microboats are.

Her's a pic of my Monterey 2000SS (19ft'r minus platform) with 5.7 260hp / Alpha drive. It's actually counted as a 20ft by the factory - apparently they include the swim platform which is exactly 1 ft.

Update 6/4/08:
With our lakes newly imposed 45mph speed limit I've decided to make this Micro go a little faster. It has received some motor work last summer that got me to 36mph speedo.

2452 arriva- 68 on gps, does that count?
Nope, sorry. Just out of the Microboat range.

But very impressive !

Kid and Velocity Driver - I am counting length without Swim Platform.

Measure them up and see if you sneak under the 23ft I set forth.

If both of you don't sneak under this, I still am impressed by the speeds from your 'smaller' boats.

540cid in a 23'ft Velocity - that will be somethin.

Ok - measure up - I want to include anybody I can.

Hey watch who you're calling 'micro' buddy! Ehem....just not compensating for anything else. :devious: :D

Are you allowed to post if your speedo has never worked?

89 Chaparral 23'4" :D Too heavy to run fast, 454 mildly worked over. I'll do the low rule for fairness, 55ish if I can believe the Formula running next to me one day.

needmoreboat - a little too big. Not quite a Micro. I do like those.

speter4205 - we need a GPS for all fairness. You can guess low, but it has to be real low for me to post it. See my example.

detideoneon - you fit in bud ! Just not Micro or Large. 24ft is really good size for most all aspects of boating.

VelocityDriver - you are in. We all know most, if not all boats, are shorter than factory stated. I put you at 22' 10" for a happy medium.

Again, so everyone knows. I'm not doing this to leave people out and get them pizzed.

I have to put a limit on it somewhere and I really feel - as I'm sure most others do to - that under 23'ft is considered a small boat by todays standards.

I don't think many of these get all that much respect , as far as being talked about in Forums and real life, and just wanted to get all these people more active in it.

Okay, and yes, there is a big push on putting big power in these little boats and I also wanted to group it all together to see what's shaking.

Many of the speeds above are going to be replaced by much bigger numbers - example: Velocity Drivers - because they are putting big guns in them.

So, let's keep it going. I think this is turning out quite well.
