Ok let me have it. :D
I hope it doesn't break down as much as mine does.

Drove to Wilkes Barre on Tues. to see a customer. Pulled into the parking lot, got out, sat and watched my entire radiator empty out. Ran across the street to get a couple of gallons or water. Made it to the Stealership and $365 later and new water pump was on my way back home.

Is it an auto?

If so, have the dealer enable the "high idle" feature. This is a the manual control version, you can hop in the truck in the morning, hit the cruise control button and manually control the idle rpms up to 1500.

Makes for a much quicker warm up, plus, it's not good to idle it in cold temps for long periods. Engine temps never really get up, cylinder wash down, etc., etc.

There are LOTS of things to feel good about with a 3rd Gen.

Comfort, heated (i assume?) towing mirrors, reliable CP3 pump, 325HP!

Plenty of goodies, just a matter of how much pain your wallet can take.

Depending on how much and how often you tow, the exhaust brake is nice. I have the Pac Brake, both this one and the Jacobs brand work very well and won't effect the factory warranty. Main difference is the Pac is air operated, pretty foolproof design, plus gives you on board air.

Exhaust brake activated and high idle is a 3.5 minute (FLAT) warm up in 40 degree temps. The brake works directly via signals from the ecm, shuts off at 180*, or if you touch the go pedal.

Nice looking truck. Cummins is good stuff.

It's not an import, good. :D

And best of all, you don't have to worry about all that stupid government legislated ripoff "re-gen". All that does is get into your wallet and give you nothing in return. Burns the fuel out of the tank down the exhaust to clean out particulates etc. Major waste of money!!!
Your 07 is better off without this stuff.
Happy motoring.

It has the factory exhaust brake on it and it seems to work nice. (I have not towed with it but it)

VERY GOOD POINT!! I work for a major truck lease co and weve had nothing but issues with this and all of our customers are complaining about having to sit in parking lots burning fuel, the govt is so stupid they want to conserve fuel and then they come out with something stupid like this, wait till 2012 when it gets worse, not to mention that regen has already added 5k per engine and we havent had to get into replacement parts yet, once these things start rotting out were really in trouble,, someone said that one of them regen mufflers cost around 1k

Congratulations - Doug...

I haven't told anyone (until now) but I just replaced my 2002 Ford F-150 with 66,000 miles.

With a new 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 XRT4 (no photos yet) it's been raining since I bought it. Probably God crying !

I did LOVE the Ford, but it was time for something new and with the $4,500 rebate, dealer incentives, low APR etc.
They're practically giving these trucks away right now.

Plus it has the lifetime drivetrain warranty (which covers the waterpump - Rick ).

What year is your's Rick ?

Anyway, if it turns out to be HALF the truck the Ford was - I'll be happy !

You should have bought a Toyota you fool !!! :laugher: :laugher: :laugher:

Hey Rick, did you at least get a kiss after you took it up the azz ? :D :D

The water pump went out on my `05 a couple weeks ago ( 106K miles ). A new one with lifetime warranty from parts store was $50 and it took me just shy of 1 hour to swap it out in my driveway.
