Anyone have recommendations for an oil pump and timing chain? I'm building an HP500 out of my Gen V 502. Is a Melling M-77HV sufficient? What are the advantages of these "blueprinted" Oil Pumps I see at CP Performance, for 3-times the money? Same with the timing chain...any recommendations on Manufacturer/model? Do I need to spend the money on the Billet, or not?

I put the melling HV in my rebuilds this winter, seem to run nicely, no less than 50 LBS on hot oil at cruise, enough to make me warm and fuzzy. $40.00 at summit, (got new pick ups also for $15 a piece)

I used a crane timing set, CRN-13993-1, I'm honestly not sure weather that is good or bad, I am putting out very modest power, so figured it would suffice.

Thanks PJD! Thats the route I think I'll go as well. Just hated to spend the money on unecessary parts, if there is no difference.
