I think there is always sticker shock with Baja! But they are a great ride. I love my Hammer! With a trade in I'm looking around 50 for a left over :( Is it worth all that $$$$ :confused1
I'd pay 50 if it's brand new with trailer......see if you can post some pics.

there's nothing like buying a new boat! just plan on keeping it for a while..............

Yes they are a nice boat a Friend has one with a 496 Ho in it  we clocked him when we had are 29' kryptonite he ran around 70 or so with it :D it looked like it took the chop nice!!! we went through Sinclare point with him running full tilt the roughest part of the lake D I have seen them with a HP500 in them and the guy told me he ran 74 or so with it :winker: that would be a good choice for you!! should be able to find some nice ones for sale out there!!!

What year? What is the SST package on Bajas anyway
I had a 24 Outlaw SST.I think the package consisted of graphics, stainless rubrail, gauges, trim on the throtlle, halon, tabs and probably a couple other things I'm forgetting right now.New is nice, but there are many used 25's out there.Maybe not so many with HO's but a 502 isn't a bad way to go.Probably see upper 60's(mph).

MSRP was 82 :dead: Below 70 after show discount.
Problably a few K profit just to get it gone, did you discuss ordering one and having it built the way you want it? market is slow and for an easy sale they might give you close to the same price!

I also agree with Sun98 the up charge isn't worth it for a couple MPH............

in the 60-70K bracket you have a few options, consitered a Checkmate? how about a Pantera?

Like I've said before, 25 Outlaw is hard to beat. I had a 98 and loved it. As far as speed, they do need power. I had a HP500 carb and 72GPS was tops. I think a 496 non HO should run 65 ish. That's not too bad. I would not plan on doing any mods to that engine though. I think the non-HO's are best left in stock form. I think a 25 would be a nice step up from the hammer. Good choice. Best of luck :D

Here's my opinion. Baja makes a nice boat, nice cabins, roomy, etc. But, there are faster fish in the sea. If the above statement is truly your objective, look for a different hull. You can add HP to any hull and make it faster, but do you want the headaches and expense that go along with that? Don't get stuck on one brand of boat. There are a lot of boats to choose from. It's hard to find one that has everything.

I still stand by the used boat theory. You should be able to buy one a few years old for a lot less money. Most boats up in this area dont get used many hours a year so they stay new. If you really wanted to spend 70K you caould buy a real nice 28-29 foot boat with an HO. You should look into that 26 hustler I e-mailed you, it seemed like a pretty nice boat and not too far away! Back to the question I never rode on a 25 outlaw but I always heard good things, a very well balanced boat and a good ride for the size. Baja are not known for the fastest hulls but they are nice boats at a good price.....thats why there are about 47 thousand on Sacandaga! :D

Oh and if you want to supercharge I would stay away from the 496mag or HO. Buy a used with a 502 or even a 454mag.

I'm shopping. No commitments yet! If I'm spending 40k for used, I much rather spend another 10k and buy new. If you see a good deal you have to jump on it, right! I would not a final choice till I talked with you guys. And of course my sweet wife!
