This is the first time we took our 04 f250 v10 on a trip. This truck got 17mpg through the mountains and 20 the rest of the way down to myrtle beach sc. It sures beats the durango and dodge ram I use to have. And people are scared of the v-10. I have 18 wheels and 3.73 gears and that is the mileage it gets. It is a 4x4 ext. cab. I'm happy, plus it tows great.

TWICE the BEST I have ever heard of from the V-10. Owners I know say 10 TOPS!!Atleast city/towing!!

My neighbor is CONSTANTLY telling me how his old 6.5 Turbo Diesel (SS no less) Suburban get 30 mpg now that it has, chip, K&N, Flowmasters, etc etc etc. Maybe you guys can get together and tell these fairy tales!!!!!!!

I just got 9.3 and 9.7 avg with my 6.8 V10 on a 1100 mile trip pulling a 37' boat (running 55-65 mph). Best I've seen towing is 12.5 at 55 mph on flat land only with a 32' boat (11k lbs). I've never gotten over 13.5 towing or empty and I have 3.73's.

I got the same setup. I average about 12 MPG. The 410 rear KILLS the MPG. I'm taching more in my truck at 65 MPH than I am in my 1.6L Honda.

My speedo is right I checked it with my gps. It is hand calculated. I am running a K&N air cleaner and duel magnaflow exhaust. I am running 65 on cruise. This thing gets 10-12 towing. Now in city traffic stop and go she gets 10-12. If you do jack rabbit starts it gets bad mpg but as long as you are easy with it its good.

usally around 10.8 MPG the rpm's were @ 2300, also up hill no power, and it also has an intake system K&N, i'm not saying he's lying but it does not seem right  :confused1

What year and are you towing on flat or on hills, Do you use tow mode? The reason i ask is on the flat tows if i kick off the tow mode my rpm's drop like 400 to 500 rpm's and according to the temp gauge on the tranny it dos'nt build anymore heat. I have the 2005 6.0 300 horse 410's 4x4. true duals and i put 265's on instead of 245's (tires)My step dad has a 07 6.0 4x4 with a work body and loaded and gets better then me but still only 13 mpg 5SPD auto 373 gear.
