dont turn this into a pissin match about Baja... Maybe in January that would liven things up....

Been on a bunch of 290's, Like em a lot. They were as much about quality with comfort and convenience.

One thing I liken them to is this. You know how a 15-20 year old formula if cleaned up real nice, the quality of the vinyl and components will still show very very well... its sort of like that, but not quite as much, but up there.

Great riding and handling boat, easy to trailer, great cabin for weekends, built solid, cockpit is big, lot of freeboard, DuPont Imron graphics that won’t fade, lots of storage (I like the floor storage in the cockpit area), cheap to run. You sacrifice a lot of engine compartment space for the larger cockpit, which I don’t mind as long as I don’t have to change the impeller too often. Had mine for four years now and would find it hard to part with it. I have taken it on poker runs and all over Lake St Clair and Lake Erie for weekend stays. The engines are 454 and hit speeds in the high 60's. It’s pretty much a turn key boat with few issues other then your normal maintenance (yr. 2000) Here are a few pictures

i bought my '96 29' enticer about a year and a half ago. i have no problems w/the build quality of the boat from what i can see. like the one guy said...the rigging could be better and i do have a slow hatch actuator that i need to fix and my cabin door sucks, too. must be common problems w/pq...atleast the 29's.

ive gotten compliments on the ride quality of mine from people that have ridden in other popular brands of boats. i think mine handles the rough stuff pretty well for what it is.

power...standard mpi 454 330's / bravo 1's / standard steering / insta-trim tabs.
speed...67-68. one day last fall i hit 70 w/3 people and 1/4 tank of fuel. other than that...high 60's.

i would buy another pq...but i always heard mid to late 90's were the best years but thats only hearsay.

mine has about 800 hours on it and i lost a motor to a rod knock july of this year. i had it rebuilt but my season was shot financially. ofcourse...that wasn't a pq issue.

i listed mine for sale (not on here yet). some things have changed for me and i wont be able to use it as much. im actually leaving to get my motors winterized right now.
i would buy another one thats for sure. i think the 29's are alot of boat for the money.

here's some pics...

Had 3 PQ 290's a 95,99,and a 2000.the 95 did have different Bolsters, windsheild and a 4 stringer set up in the engine compartment, were the 99 and 2000 have a 3 stringer set up,when I ordered the 99 and was touring the factory I was told they did this for height savings and higher X dimension.
I think for a 29 they are great boats ;)

Nice PQ's. Loved mine and still consider it probably the best boat I've owed. I'm curious as to why you've owned 3? Most people want to go bigger/faster etc. I liked mine so much I went out and bought a new 99 38 avenger, which turned out not to be near the quality of my 91 29. Did your 95 have the much bigger square windshield frame?

Yep the 95 had a square frame windsheild with the night light in the middle.
the only thing I didnt like about the 95 was the cabin door, they only offered it in black, the 99 and 2000 have a white door.
Why I have owned 3 290s?
I like the boat,I think if you compare them to cars a PQ is a Lexus not a Porsche and that fine with me.I boat in a smaller body of water so a 29 is a good size.

I sold the 95 because I wanted the efi motors,I sold the 99 and was going to get a 280 Silencer because the kids got older and dont come out as much, but at the time they wanted as much for a 280 as the 290 so thats why I got the 3rd one.

I almost bought a 28...wish I had.

There are a bunch of them at LOTO...nice boats but so many of them have just NASTY graphics!!! NASTY!! What were they thinking?
