I had a 91 290 and was really impressed by the quality, back then it was there flag ship. I owned a 240 baja before that and it was like nite and day quality wise. I think early 90's models were better built than late 90's. They cheapend up hardware some to compete w/ cheaper brands, ie windshield frame, bolster frames etc.
I've seen others post this about build quality of the PQ's in the later models. I wonder how this rumor got started. We had three '02 340's in our club and they were all great boats. One is still here running strong. And we are not talking about puzzy futtin' around on inland waters. Lower Ches Bay azz kickin' on a weekly basis.

Hey Enticer...I modified your graphics. :D

It is not a rumor that they used cheaper hardware etc. In fact I remember talking to Kevin H. at a boat show about this. If you compare a 95-96 380 to later yrs you'll see they eliminated other things in an effort to cut costs. If you look at the cabin you'll see they quit putting the skirting around front of lounge, eliminated the laser cut bolster name plates, cheaper windshield frame. That is not too say they still didnt build a great boat and didnt make improvements in other areas. I think they made a consious decision to go after Baja instead of Formula. FYI, I paid $115k for my 99 38 brand new. A 38 Formula for same yr would of been $50k more.

Hey Scooter - this is the guy across the street from you with the 340 (drop me a note at jjgrice55@gmail.com).

On 290s we had a 1991 and loved it. The only design issue I was not pleased with was not having an enclosed head but for the size that would have shewed up the cabin too much.

I have seen a few around with MX 6.2's how would those be for top end speed and fuel economy compared to the 330 BBC?

More info is needed...is it new or used and what year

Had 3 PQ's and one was a 29 ft Enticer....in 1992 they came with all the gingerbread.......not like now when everything is an option

I think I have a pic of the 29 somewhere...I'll look

When I was looking for a 29 ft in 1991 I found a 1992 boat that was ALL white, no port holes and white interior with just gray piping. It was really nice, but the guy was firm on the boat at (then) $90,000.00. I don't hink I don't think I have a pic of it anymore
