anyone check out Ford's new 500?

it's got a CVT transmission available.

no specific gears - CVT = Continuously Variable Transmission.

pretty cool huh?

active suspension, AWD - now it just needs a HEMI!

or one of these under the hood...

The new Ford 500 looks real nice......but I'd wait a year or two before buying one. I heard from a very reliable source that Ford has had trouble with the transmission as far as reliability. Debut was delayed because of it.
I'll wait and see what happens.

Hey, not to toot the Ford horn too much, but I got to look at the new Mustang yesterday. It's new from the ground up.

The windows roll down about a 1/4 inch when you pull the handle. They stay like that until you close the door, then roll back up into the rubber slot just like the T-Birds. That's pretty cool stuff. The one I looked at had a 1000watt stereo in it, with subwoofer box in the trunk straight from the factory. Six speed tranny. The shifter throws where about a 1/4 inch apart. That's tight!!!!

Something like 100 different instument colors and true dual exhausts.

At 300 hp it needs about 50 more horse and I'm in there.

I'm gettin one next year for sure....

You just described my mercedes SL500
330 HP, Bose sub in the back (seat if you want to call it that) Windows do that with the handle where the glass jumps down a notch so not to hurt the weather stripping on the hard top convert or the soft top tucked in the tonneau cover.
Thats old technology they are just picking up things from other manufacturers.
Now the retro 69 front end THAT KICKS ARSE!
Im waiting for one of these manufacturers to come out with an old style big block again. Its just a matter of when cause there are people out there that the fuel mileage can kiss their rump they want to go out and RUN the car not worry about mileage.

Even though a Chevrolet (C4) fan myself, I have to say that the new Mustang with it's retro look is pretty nice.

We have an 05 fastback in my shop as I am writing this. Second one in fact. We provide/install the emergency warning light systems on all of the Ford racing vehicles, namely NASCAR. The first Mustang pace car was at Kansas a couple weeks ago.

The second car (I can see it in the corner with the car cover still on it) is going out sometime next week, en-route to Homestead for the final. We are doing some pretty amazing things with LED lighting these days. Look for LED lighting on boats in the not so distance future. Shock, vibration and water resistant and very low amp draw and the pure color of LED. Perfect for the performance boater.

I was in the plant that they hand build that GT motor. There was about 25 of them on shipping pallets ready to go. I tried to convince them to load one in the back of my truck, but they were not easily convinced.
The look even more impressive then the picture. Dry sump oil system and all!
It's a shame they would not let us take pictures.

The GT in a retro kinda' way is an awesome looking machine. I'd buy one, it would be the first Ford I'd owned since the 69 Shelby.

The Viper? Had a 96 model and frankly unless it was sitting there (which it did look good) didn't care much for it. Acceleration was unbelievable but everything else just lacked, the cheesy interior, the never ending rattles, the questionable suspension...don't know about the new ones I'm sure they have improved.
