OB's thread on selling his Pontiac to a 16 year old got me thinking about my first car.

A 1964 Chevy Malibu 2dr, 283 with 3 on the floor ! :)

What was your first ride ?

I think back on things I've owned and wondered why I didn't keep them?

Mickey Mantle Baseball Cards used for noise makers in the spokes of your bicycle tires

Superman Comic Books

Buffalo Head nickels used to buy a coke

Original Harley Davidson Sturgis

1968 Plymouth Road Runner

etc.. etc ...

First car was a1966 Chevelle 327, 4speed, 3.73 - 12bolt, black, black and a big block hood. Next was a 66 GTO convertible, butternut yellow with a 4 speed.
I have a 1litre Diahatsu Sirion now, something just isn't right about this.
I WANT A HEMI CUDA (thanks for letting me get that out of my system)

Cheers,

Andy

1977 Ford F-100 300 cu. in. inline 6 cylinder, 3 "on the tree" manual steering, brakes, windows and no A/C.:( :( Red and rusty with white wagon wheels and air shocks:D :D Paid $700.00 for it. It wasn't much but I was proud of it.

1964 Mercury Monterey, 390 4 barrel, three in the tree, electric rear window (very cool), no power steering. Talk about your muscle car, took all the muscle I had to turn it. Pristine condition $150. I had to sell my Honda Mini Trail 50 to buy it.

First car cost $40. I bought if from a family friend. 1972 Pontiac Catalina, pee green with black vinyl top, 400 4 barrel. It was a piece of chit but I loved that car!!! Wrecked it a couple months later and traded it for a 1976 Pontiac Astre (Chevy Vega.) That was a couple dozen vehicles ago. I now have the car I wanted to be my first though!!!!!

1964 Chevy short-bed pickup (hey, I live in Texas)
327, 3 speed on the column.
I went through 4 clutches that first summer!
I finally figured out that dumping the clutch at 4000 rpm was not good...for anything!

Now, 22 years and 83 vehicles (yikes!) later, I think back to some of the ones I wish I`d kept.

70 Dodge Challenger
Just a 318, but what a cool car.
79 Trans Am
400 cubic inches of Pontiac poking through a screamin chicken hood.
89 Firebird Formula 350
With some help from Tuned Port Induction Speciaties, this car would top 150 mph.
97 Formula
Hopped up LT1 and a 6 speed...need I say more?

1971 1/2 SS396 Nova

1971 1/2 SS 396 NOVA, Bought for $700 dollars in 1981, engine was blown and they put a 350 in it, but kept the 12 coil springs on front. So with a couple bounces, it would pull the front tires off the ground. I was cool back in school.
