I have the same boat and I run a 21 mirage and I also have a 23 labbed mirage. Im getting about 2mph more from the 23.
Props

How does it plane out with the 23p? Is it to big? Id like to get my 21 lab finished, that seems to be the standard for these.

I have a stern jack on mine so it plains out very fast!
How much speed did you gain with the jack alone ? What power ? Did you have to change prop size ?

I purchased the boat with the stern jack. The original owner told me around 5mph. I have the stock motor with mild mods. intake carb and Glm exhaust.

I also have GLM exhaust and just thought that was original with the boat, could it have been? Mine has silent choice exhaust and it doesn't get quiet like it used to. Can the piece that blocks off the exhaust wear out or burn up?
Bsell Have you seen my problem? I think ive found the only one of these boats built without thru-hull. Im looking into manifolds as well, but ive got a full length swimplattform right in the way of where the pipes should go. And id hate to take that off because its nice at the beach, and even tho i could fill the old mount holes i just dont know if id ever trust that water not getting in them and rotting my transom. Put a transom in a my other boat and that is a shitty job. So I dont know what im going to do, but its starting to drive me crazy.

My GLM manifolds are aluminum 4 inch. I lost roughly 100lbs off the back of the boat and it also has dividers http://www.glmmarine.com/manifolds/images/soundings_0408ad.pdf

I believe Your boat came with cast iron Mercruiser manifolds.

I did see the pic on the Transom threat. i think you could still get a way with it very easy! you might have enough room to go right under the platform or you could raise the platform! I have used 3m marine silicone on holes in my transom for my depth finder and no issues! or you could go to swim steps. eddie marine makes some very nice ones that can be powered coated to what ever color you want!.

First of all bsell your boat looks B/A. Where do you boat at?

Ive been looking at what im dealing with and I would like to go under the platttform, so I can keep it, but then I think the steer rack is in the way, so its like 6 of 1, or half a dozen of the other you know. what I need to do first is take some measurements to get an idea of what my options are.

All I know is there are a couple of sport crownlines, and rinkers down by me that sound good, and they've got no idea. And that drives me nuts. I launched next to a rinker (POS) saturday and it barked and here i am all quiet, but it was sweet when we hit the main channel, cause I walked by him and wasnt even full tilt yet. Keep in mind I just bought this boat and am still going throught it doing maint, and other stuff.

Pulled the ORIGINAL, yes original plugs, wires, cap, and rotor off saturday, and also found that my yoke seal on my drive is leaking also. So im working on getting that fixed, but this boat has been so babied id almost feel bad cutting holes in the back of it. These boats are few and far between, and it took me almost five years to find one at a decent price, that was in good stock shape. So who knows, Im just glad to be own one.

Congrads! I love my boat! and it sounds super mean, I alway have people approach me and ask me if I have a big block! I think the mild cam does that! I had mine for sale for about 2 months. then I decided I couldn't replace it! I boat all over MI! grand Haven, Torch, Higgins, houghton, everywhere! I even took it to Lake of the Osarks last year. what type of speed are you at WOT?
Yea I know that I will keep this boat most likley forever. Im sure I will buy other boats but the POWERPLAY I think I will always keep. I remember the first one I saw, way back when I was a kid, and I've wanted one ever since.

As far as top speed, I have not yet gotten an accurate reading. Because I've got the old school style flip up - pick up, and it seems to flip-up at around 50mph. Now I'm running the SS19p prop that came on the boat, and when I raced that guy this weekend he said he was doin like 55 on his speedo, and I rolled right buy him. So idono. Waiting on my new GPS come in so I can get a real reading. Its amazing tho even with the small prop on there when you stand on it at like 4000-4500 it just pulls and pulls.

Once my drive is fixed im going to get my prop work done and then I should be up to par for now. So it looks like my project truck is getting put aside for a bit so I can sink some money into the boat.... Why are all fun hobbies so expensive... lol!

If you dont mind me asking how fast do you run, I see you have some minor motor work done.

I hear ya!

I'm running 65.3 on my GPS... the boat is out of the water and I chime a little. there was a super charger on it llast summer and it was hitting mid 70's but that was nuts and the motor isnt built for it. just wanted to try it out!
Wow mid 70's I couldnt imagine what felt like. Ive got a bit of chime walking going on to but im sure im not hitting 65 range yet. supposedly that can be corrected by going to a four blade prop. What intake and carb setup are you running?

edlebrock performer rpm intake and edlebrock 650 carb.
to correct chine walkin.. more power and it will go right away :laugher:

mine stock would only do 58mph on gps with a 21 pitch. 3 Blade always worked great on this boat, tried a hydro 4 blade and did't have any bow lift alot of stern lift though LOL! These days I swing a 25 labbed laser around 5900 rpm.....
Well if your turning 5900 rpm your motor cant be stock nemore. What all have you done?
