how funny would that be to see it come back to the states..

That $25,600 is only a result of the value of the US Dollar vs. The United Arab Emirates dirham.GRH said:Same broker is asking $25,600 for a 17' bayliner :laugher:
Another perfect example of the current value of our currency. People can pay us in dollars what we are asking for product, your old boat in this case, and sell it in their home currency for a significant profit even after paying to have it shipped there!Rock Steady said:Evendently the guy who did buy it, IS a broker himself from what I learned here on SW...

His price is in the dirham, he could care less what it equates to in our money!
I read it correctly the first time.GRH said:Re -read... it says Current Price: US$ 25,600
"Own a new boat for less than 94000 AED. "
Sorry ghart I'm missing your point.... ad says US$25600... I can buy that boat all day long for under $15k around here... that was my point....ghart said:I read it correctly the first time.
Apparently 94000 AED is a killer price for a 2008 Bayliner in Dibai!
Just happens to translate into a big number in US Dollars.
Here ya go, just do the math!
1 United Arab Emirates dirham = 0.272628 U.S. dollars
I completely understand your point, you are missing mine.GRH said:Sorry ghart I'm missing your point.... ad says US$25600... I can buy that boat all day long for under $15k around here... that was my point....
again re-read... I said "I am missing your point"ghart said:I completely understand your point, you are missing mine.
While it is true your 15 grand will buy you a new 17 foot Bayliner here at home.
In Dubai, your 15 grand wont buy squat!![]()
The people in Dubai are buying fuel just as cheap as they today as they did 2 years ago while we're paying almost twice as much.
All of what I just said is purely because of the falling value of our currency outside of the US. :confused1
No reason you should other than it is exactly the reason you are paying 4 bucks a gallon for gas!GRH said:again re-read... I said "I am missing your point"
Why would I care what my 15K can buy in Dubai[/url]
Thats not the only or exactly the reason I'm paying $4 /gal for gas.... many countries aroung the world pay the same for a barrel of oil as the US and many are not paying $4/gal... some pay more... some pay less... but theres more to it then then price the Arabs are getting for a barrel of oil....ghart said:No reason you should other than it is exactly the reason you are paying 4 bucks a gallon for gas!
