Allright can someone please give me a little information about the boat that I own..? I bought a 1989 Sea Ray Pachanga last year and I have not seen many of them around here so I really dont know much about the boat. It came with a 454 which I blew up within a few months so I already replaced it with a new rebuild from Jasper engines high performance division. It has the stock carb but a aftermarket intake..(elderbrock performer) should I upgrade the carb..? what else could I do to make it a lil faster..? any help or info on the boat would be great..thanks

Five P

I too am kinda new to the P22 game. Got mine this year. I am not sure what kind of information you are looking for on the boat. If you are looking for original paper work and stuff like that, the Sea Ray site has a pretty much everything about the P22 and their other boats over the years online. If you are wondering about performance upgrades to this boat, well all depends on how fast you want to go. First off make sure you have a bravo drive (wasn't mentioned so not sure if you have one). You can run a lower hp 454 with an alpha but if you want more speed/hp out of a big block then the bravo setup is a must. Also there might be are a couple of muffler (look like big black coffee cans) in the corners of the boat’s engine compartment. I haven’t heard really one way or the other about whether these buy you any performance but I am sure that it will make the 454 sound better if you take them out. I would just search this site on 454 performance upgrades, and so forth and you should be able to find a lot of information. I know these boats will handle 500hp+ no problem but without tabs and hydraulic steering I would be careful. A stock 454 should be running around 62-65 (depending on conditions/prop/weight/etc.) in the P22 with the bravo. A little faster with the alpha. There are a couple of guys on here with some serious P22’s so they should be able to help you out. HOW ABOUT SOME PICS!

Allright guys I am gonna post some pics tomorrow night I am currently re-upholstering the interior and its almost done.........its a lot of work but I found a guy that did the whole boat for me fairly cheap and he did amazing work. The boat has a bravo one outdrive and a stainless steel mirage prop. Jasper told me that the motor that I purchased has anywhere from 375-425 h.p. depending on what carb and intake I go with. Currently I have a stock carb along with a elderbrock performer 2 intake..any thoughts on what carb intake combo I should go with..? other than that the pics will be posted tomorrow night and I have a lot more questions thanks everyone .

What's the part # for that intake? I can't tell from the pic which one it is.

Did you retune the carb for the new motor?
Its a eldelbrock performer 2 intake.....and I didnt know that you had to re-tune the carb...ughhhh see this is where I need assistance....Should I go to a new carb like a 850 cfm or something..?

And there are no mufflers on the boat
