you just have to keep the drive tucked in a little and tabs down and run 'er around 34-3600 and you'll be fine. he may want to get longer tabs to help with it.
We were thinking about changing the tabs out... He's going to run it this summer and make a decision thereafter on what to try. He tried another prop, went from a 22bravo1 to a 24" bravo1 and it didn't change anything other than reduce rpms to about 4500... Surpised that boat can't push a 24".... Otherwise he's very happy with the boat and for 26', it's one great riding boat... busts through the slop with ease!!!

Thanks!
K-Planes or Bennet Tabs?

I went from 12x12 Bennets to 12x18 Bennets. Its a very quick and easy swap. That helped a lot. Bennet is SUPER easy and great to work with.

To help a bit, bring the edge of the tabs down to meet an imaginary plane off the bottom of the hull, but not extending past the edge of the hull. I marked this on my indicator as it was a sweet spot.

The boat does not need a lot of trim. I ran mine at neutral or slightly over 90% of the time.

It will get to bobbing depending on conditions and fuel load. When it does, tuck in the drive a bit, and pull the stick back about 1000 rpm, and come back up to speed.

It actually like a bounce. The boat is searching for the extra hull that is not there. It falls off this non-existant part of the hull, and climbs back up again looking for it.

They did actually take the notch out of the mold of the 358. The 26's still have the notch.

My dad did the same swap and was getting about 46-4700 RPM w/a stock 24. He had another one labbed and is at 4900 right around 62 on GPS. They're a heavy boat, his is around 6000 lbs.

Another modification he made was he made up longer tabs, 12x19/20, which has helped out quite a bit. The stock 12x12s are almost a joke. You really do want the longer ones on there to help out with the problem. Also, the lower the RPMs the more/easier she'll porpoise. They're an awesome boat, one of the best around for a 26 footer, but that's the only problem is that they porpoise. Let us know what he ends up doing, but don't let him get discouraged.
