What is the difference between marine wires and automotive? I'm replacing the old and shorting wires on my boat. The problem is it's an 81 with a points distributer. So I need Male/female wires. I'm having a hard time getting themi n marine and when I can find them they are a fortune. I can get female/female wire in marine for a very resonable cost. I'm considering using a good set of automotive wires. Or else I'll have more money in wires thant he boats worth. Will this be okay.

Thanks Brian:) :) :)

No need to use marine type wires.
Go with a good set of Hi- Performance (MSD, Moroso, Mallory, etc) NON-HEI type plug wires.
Automotive wires will last almost forever as long as you use dielectric grease (available at any parts store) on both ends of the wires to keep water out. Besides they'll pull off easier come time to change plugs.
