Until my manual comes in to diagnose the problem, does any one know what my problem might be. I was coming in to the launch after a great evening of boating and my boat wouldnt go into neutral or reverse, I mean the lever would go into neutral but the boat would keep moving along. it starts up just fine but the prop continues to move and even in the neutral position when the boat is off you can not turn the prop. I appreciate any feed back.

Thanks Guys!!!

My OMC did that it was a cobra and the nut on the end of the cable came off and it was disconnected in the drive and stuck in forward. I thought the cable was broke until I checked it out it was an easy fix and I used lock tite on it when I reassembled

I don't know whay kind of drive you have, but I have a Bravo one and it did happened to me at the beginning of the season.

I was sure that my shift cable had broke but when I got the drive off, yhe cable wasn't broke, it just got unhook from the claw.

I notice that the claw mechanism was a little loose, so I manage to tight it a bit and I put it back in, got the drive back on and it is ok ever since.
