My sun pad is completely rotted and HAS to be re-done this winter...
I talked to Mike at Checkmate and found that
#1.. The "pink" color is no longer available..
#2.. Because of the impending "buy out" they aren't taking in any work so I need to get it done locally....

Soooo, what I was thinking of doing is having it covered in white the put the Checkmate "knight" in blue in the middle of it...
Eventually I will phase the "pink" out of the rest of the interior as stuff needs to be re-done...

What do you guys think???

Unfortunately the "best" picture I have of the interior was with my dad bundled up for an October ride... :)

Here's a better pic of it .. So it would be basically the same only the colors would be reversed and it would be MUCH bigger...

You should get a local shop to do it for you . Your lumber in the pad is prolly rotted , so plan on cutting a new one . And I'm sure you can match the pink if you want to keep it stock . But if not just take out the pink and stick with blue and white .

You should be able to find a superior vinyl with backing since your getting new material . One thing I would consider , that is a high traffic area with ppl stepping on and off there . You might want to consider a pattern that will hold up to that kind of abuse . The horse emblem might look good but how sturdy will the stitch job be with all those intricate curves and turns . At least with straight lines and semi curves you can do a french stitch which is sewn together then reinforced with another row of stitching . Very durable . And looks good . You will also have to cover your pad under the vinyl with plastic as to keeping your pad and wood dry .

Its not hard to do once you get into it . You prolly can save yourself some money if you remove the skin yourself and just have a new one made . Then replace everything yourself .

You might call Checkmate and ask them if you can buy just a new skin . They should have all the dimensions on hand . I would talk with their parts department about that .

I had the the hatch on CarBiz's Formula done by my vinyl guy and it was around $350.00 I think for a 3 color sunpad. When it was finished CarBiz said it matched perfectly.

Had my old Dominator hatch done for around the same price 3 or 4 years ago. Which included cutting and mounting the scoops.

Just be sure they turn down the edges of the emblem, so it's kind of rounded, and not just stiched on there. The edges will stick up otherwise.

WOW!! Thanks for all the ideas. :)

My wood rotted away two years ago so I used PL9000 to glue the foam to the fiberglass and the vinyl to the foam.

It started coming apart again so it's definately time to do it right...

Checkmate normally could supply me with a new cover but they are currently in the middle of a "buy out" so they aren't currently taking in any work. :(

The "pink" color has been discontinued due to blotchy discoloring (which I've noticed on my seats)..
I might be able to come close but pink isn't really my color in the first place.

I'll let you know what I come up with...

Thanks again

I like the white more with the Blue horseeee

Maybe you could add some stripes of blue?

And heck while your at it redo the the chairs too!!

X-may the pink and add black accent...
