Just thinking ahead to this winters projects. I want to redo the transom/gimbal assy. on my boat due to some "play". What are the commonly replaced components. It is an Alpha 1. I was thinking the gimbal ring, hinge pins, swivel shaft, lower pivot pin, and the steering lever. All of the bellows were replaced last year so I will prob. reuse them. Oh, and of course the gimbal bearing.

Thanks.

When I did my Bravo one gimble last year I got all the parts from Ron Bender JR Marine. He knew exactly whay parts/tools I would need as he does these jobs still on a daily basis. He can also rebuild the gimble ring instead of buying new. Are you pulling the engine? If not he has a kit to cut the transom assembly in just the right place to get at the steering pin nut so you dont have to drill into the side of the assembly like Merc says to do. Ive done them both ways and his way is WAY easier. Im assuming the alpha and bravo are the same....
