Hello to all... it's been a long time in waiting. but the WARCAT has finally hit the water in Lake Havasu, Arizona this week, thanks to to the innovative & extra efforts delivered by Lakeland Marine. I'll post a few pics for now to let the CAT out of the bag!

Rigged with triple Verado's (supercharged & intercooled)
Propped with Merc Bravo 1 (26 pitch) 4 blade
Outer engines are 25"
Center engine is 20"
Hydraulic steering (steers w/one finger)!!!
1 piece engine bracket (Mfg by DANA) - looks like NASA Space Shuttle equipment... don't even ask the cost!!!

RESULTS:

The boat is the only triple I know of in the country, that will get on plane in 7-8 seconds (with only 2 engines)!!!

First, I planed it with the 2 outer engines, and it topped out at 60mph!!!

Then, I planed it with just the center & 1 outer, and she ran 60mph... this blows my mind with the torque of the Verado's!

Therefore, no limping back to shore in-case I ever broke a lower unit, engine, prop, etc..

Also, the boat panes on all 3 engines everytime in 2.8 seconds!!! Again, this totally blows my mind...

Awesome. Looks great

Dumb question:
Why is the center motor shorter the 2 outside?
The answer is simple... I believe in keeping the top of the cowls on an even plane, for "level steering" on my tie rods. It looks better, and works much better. Also, the center lower unit needs to be slightly higher, since I'm running a true tunnel hull, so it won't take such a beating when running in rough water wide open...

Rigging:

I used a 5 gallon collector fuel cell in the rear, with triple batteries, and plenty of storage for beer cooler, life jackets, anchor, etc.

Everything is laid out very simplistic, and symetrical. Only 1 power steering pump, 2 external rams, no oil containers, no mechanical indicators, and no mechanical throttle, and no mechanical shifter cables!

Everything is digital (with only 1 wire harness)! Yeah baby!!!

And the 4 stroke engines means no more nasty oil in the air, or mixing it... Just add 240 gallons of fuel, and the action is GO!!!

Cockpit layout:

Dual helm steering (works incredible)...
dual horns & tethers
54" custom canopy & dual mirrors
Livorsi monster gauges thru-out
Tilt steering with black rubber boots!!!
Aircraft toggles w/throw switches
Remote stereo control (dash mounted)
Custom cabin doors with latches & locks
Mike McLoud's custom interior (with extra beer holders)!!!
Mitcher T's custom painting (simply unbelievable)!!!
Owens Aluminum 50' trailer with 6 way disc brakes on a surge

The question that first comes to mind is HOW FAST 1st time in the water I know but give us some idea By the way great looking boat has to be getting stares from everyone
The boat planes in 2.8 seconds, and ran 75mph @ 5,900 rpm's only. The computers must release the engines after so many hours, until I can reach 6,800 rpm's. We expect 85mph at 6800 (at the stock 13lbs of boost). The boat is capable of more miles per hour with more plus on the boost, but I can't talk about that subject while the engines are under warranty with Mercury! Catch my drift...

The plus side is, I ran all day, and only burned between 3/4 & 1/2 (which is approx. 20 gallons per side of 92 octain) which totals 40 gallons! Also, there is ZERO sound with the exhaust ports going thru the props! We were talking normal at WOT... the stereo was loud & clear at WOT also! Again, this unheard of for a tunnel cat of this nature!
